​Hedgerow Baskets
Join me for a creative 2 day basketry workshop using colourful locally grown willow and gathered hedgerow materials such as dogwood, old man’s beard & bramble.
You will learn to weave a round base and make a beautiful and strong basket with a handle using traditional tools and techniques. Suitable for beginners and improvers

Come and make a small beautiful basket woven around an up-cycled glass jar to create the perfect container to display cut flowers.

In this one day workshop, we will learn to weave a base using a  traditional Catalan method. Locally grown slender willow will be used to build the sides and techniques including waling and randing will be taught. We will pay special attention to selecting willow and using natural colours.

This course is suitable for beginners and improvers.

Held at the beautiful Potager Gardens where there is a cafe for lunch ( optional)

Baskets from the beach

 Studio workshop at Prussia Cove, Cornwall

Join me for a special treat of a workshop in the Artist Studio above the stunning Prussia Cove.


Working from a round base and using traditional tools and techniques, this creative course will invite you to use found pieces of driftwood and flotsam and jetsam including rope and shells, to make a basket with a real sense of place.  We will finish the baskets with an asymmetric border or leather handle. The choice will be yours.

We will have a super long lunch break which will include a walk down to the cove for a swim or sunbathe .
​
A simple vegetarian lunch will be provided.
 The aim is to make a basket, learn new skills, enjoying where we will be and feel refreshed at the end!

Suitable  for all abilities including beginners

​​​Willow  Garden  Trug

Thurs 10th &Fri 11th Sept 2026

Learn to make a willow trug  that you can use to gather and harvest produce in the garden.

In this 2 day workshop, using traditional tools and techniques we will learn to weave a square base using a screw block.
With integrated side uprights we will then learn to wale, slew and pack to create this useful and beautiful basket.
Finished with a robust border and wrapped handle.
We will pay special attention to selecting willow and using natural colours.

Suitable for improvers and those who have some experience of weaving with willow.
